Terms of service
Last updated 9 September 2026
These terms cover the use of churnbrake by the businesses that install it. Using the service means accepting them.
Who you are contracting with
churnbrake is published by Jovan Panetie, RCS de Dijon, SIREN 849268958, 5 Rue Castelnau, 21000 Dijon, France. Contact: jovan@churnbrake.com.
What the service does
churnbrake shows a cancellation flow to your subscribers when they ask to cancel, records what they say, and — if you have connected Stripe — applies the offer they accept to their subscription.
It is an addition to your billing, not a replacement for it. Stripe remains your payment provider and the system of record for every subscription. If churnbrake is unavailable, your own cancellation path runs unchanged.
What it does not promise
- No retention rate is promised, implied or guaranteed. What a flow saves depends on your product, your pricing and your customers.
- The service is provided as it stands. It is young software and it will change.
- No uptime commitment is offered at this stage. If one is ever agreed it will be in writing and separate from this page.
What it will not be used for
A cancellation flow can be built to help somebody decide, or built to wear them down. churnbrake is for the first. You agree not to use it to:
- Hide, disable or delay the option to cancel beyond the single screen the flow presents.
- State something untrue about what a subscriber loses by leaving.
- Offer terms you do not intend to honour.
This is not decoration. An account used this way will be closed, and the product is deliberately built so that cancelling is always a visible button on every screen of the flow — there is no setting that removes it.
Your account
- Signing in is a code sent to your email address, so your inbox is your account. Keep access to it.
- Your signing secret authorises the flow to open as any of your customers. Keep it on your server. Anyone holding it can do what you can do.
- You are responsible for what your flow says, including any offer you configure and any claim you make on the confirmation screen.
Your data
The sessions and answers churnbrake records for you are yours. You may ask for them, or for their deletion, at any time. How they are handled is set out in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
Price
churnbrake is in beta and is currently provided at no charge. If that changes, account holders will be told by email before any fee applies, and nothing will be billed without being agreed first.
Ending it
You may stop at any time by removing the snippet from your site and asking for your account to be deleted. We may close an account that breaches the section above, or for non-payment once there is something to pay, with notice by email except where the breach is serious.
Liability
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where it can be limited, our liability is limited to the amounts you have paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim — which, during the beta, is nothing. We are not liable for revenue you believe a flow failed to save.
Law
These terms are governed by French law, and the courts of Dijon have jurisdiction, without prejudice to any right a consumer has to bring proceedings where they live.
